Hello everyone!
Tällä(kin) kertaa oli hieman vaikea keksiä mitään kunnon draamankulkua tähän tekstiin, joten kertoilen nyt vain hieman kuulumisiani irrallisina paloina... :D Yleisesti ottaen mulle kuuluu oikein hyvää!This time (and like the times before this one), I don't have any proper order or theme in my post... I'll just share some random things that I've been doing during these months. Generally, I'm doing well and summer is approaching fast!
Goodbye
Monet meidän Erasmus-porukasta on lähtenyt kotiin, sillä he olivat vain yhden lukukauden vaihtareita. Tammikuun ja helmikuun aikana onkin jätetty liian monet jäähyväiset. Olen niin onnellinen, että olen saanut tutustua kaikkiin näihin ihmisiin, jotka ovat tehneet vaihtarivuodestani ikimuistoisen! Fiilikset ovat olleet aika-ajoin hieman haikeat, mutta olemme jo alkaneet suunnitella jälleentapaamista kesälle!
A lot of people from our Erasmus-group have left back to their homes because their exchange lasted only for one semester. And this has resulted to so many goodbyes that I'm done for them for a while... All in all, I am extremely happy that I've gotten the chance to get to know all these people, who have made my year amazing! We have been planning to reunite next summer but will see.
Escape-room - challenge
Käytiin tekemässä myös porukalla Escape-room haaste täällä Chesterissä. En ole ennen ollut siinä, mutta olen kyllä halunnut kokeilla. Haaste oli jännittävä ja tarpeeksi vaikea. Saimme sen ratkaistua noin 6 minuuttia ennen kuin aika loppui. Voisin ehdottomasti mennä toisenkin kerran.I have been wanting to go for an escape-room - challenge for a long time and now I've done it! We did it with the erasmus-people and it was so much fun! Definitely going to do it again sometimes. The challenge was quite difficult but that's what makes it exciting. I recall that we finished the challenge 6 minutes before the time ran out.
Volleyball
Lentopalloa on pelattu huolella melkeinpä joka viikonloppu ja näyttää siltä ettei tämä asia tule muuttumaan lähiaikoina. Maaliskuussa pelaamme myös Varsity-pelit. Varsity-pelit tarkoittaa sitä, että ottelemme lähes jokaisessa lajissa toista yliopistoa vastaan. Koko homma kuulostaa tosi kivalta !Volleyball is a major part of my life over here. We have games basically every weekend and it seems like it's going to continue like that. In March we have also Varsity-games which apparently means that we play against Univeristy of Salford in different sports. Sounds so much fun!
Cheshire Oaks
Cheshire Oaks on hieman kauempana Chesteristä sijaitseva alue, jossa on elokuvateatteri ja merkkituotteiden Outlet-myymälöitä! Menimme sinne tyttöjen kanssa yhtenä lauantaina kiertelemään, sekä katsomaan elokuvan La-La-Land. Alue oli todella viihtyisä ja elokuvateatteri todella iso.Cheshire Oaks is an area in Chester where are movie theater and outlets-shops. In order to get there, we had to take a bus. We went there together with girls to see a movie La-La-Land and then we also went through some shops. The place was very nice and the movie theater was very big!
Ireland
Tehtiin tosiaan Manonin ja Gabyn kanssa muutaman päivän retki Dubliniin, Irlantiin. Dublin oli tosi viehättävä kaupunki, mutta melko kallis. Siellä on käytössä eurot, joten olimmekin todella kauan aikaa melko hämillämme, sillä olemme niin tottuneet puntiin. Dublinissa me mm. kiertelimme kaupunkia, vierailimme Howth-rannikolla, Trinity collegessa ja katedraalilla. Reissu oli tosi mukava ja oli ihana nähdä Gabya pitkästä aikaa! Plussana vielä se, että näin pitkästä aikaa Pauliinaa, joka tekee omaa vaihtolukukauttaan Dublinissa!
About a week ago we travelled to Dublin for a few days with Manon, and also Gaby joined us there from Netherlands. Dublin was a beautiful city but rather expensive. The currency in Ireland is Euro so at first it was quite difficult to get used to it. In Dublin we went to see this harbor/coast in Howth, Trinity College and Cathedral. The trip was very nice and it was great to see Gaby again! And as a big bonus, I reunited with Pauliina after a long time, since she is doing her semester abroad in Dublin at the moment!
Täällä on kolmen viikon pääsiäisloma huhtikuussa. Ollaan suunniteltu matkustavamme jonkin verran Iso-Britanniaa läpi. Itse haluaisin esimerkiksi käydä Skotlannissa ja Belfastissa. Toukokuussa mun olisi tarkoitus myös saada muutama ihana lomalainen Jyväskylän suunnilta vierailemaan tänne! ;) Tuntuu todella hassulta, että muutaman kuukauden päästä, tää on kaikki ohi ja palaan Suomeen. Hullua.
In April we have three-weeks Easter holidays. The plan would be to travel around UK a little bit and in the end of April, I will travel to Netherlands for a week to visit Gaby! In UK I would still like to go to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Furthermore, in May, Juuju and Ansku will come to Chester ! I'm so excited!
However, time flies, since in few months, I'll return to Finland... Sounds so crazy....
